Dollar Tree Nastiness

We were at the Dollar Tree today when D’Lo came across this disgusting looking (well apparently not disgusting to a three year old), all sugar and marshmallow, red, green, yellow, and white, huge, Santa clause “lollipop” on a big stick…I mean this thing looked like it was made out of play dough!

“Oooohhh, I want this, Mama!”

“Uhhh no, Baby, you DO NOT want that nastiness!”

“Yes I do…I want this nastiness!”

No matter how much I tried talking him out of it…even making him think it was a choice between that and a McDonald’s happy meal, he was adamant in his decision and stood firm in his choice of purchase. I even took him to see all the other things available to him on all the other shelves of the store…no budging. We finally get up to the register, pile everything on the belt, and pay for our purchase (he’s kept a close eye on his little treasure the entire time, probably to make sure I didn’t put it back, lol). As I began grabbing up the bags to leave, he looked dead at the cashier and seriously asked:

“Can I have that nastiness now?”

…and just FYI, he took two bites of it and couldn’t stomach anymore of the nastiness, lol.
