Took my daughter to our pediatrician’s office a few days ago. D’Lo tagged along because, well, because he’s two…and two year olds do that. Once we were called back, D’lo seemed extra friendly with the medical assistant (who happens to be an old family friend). She usually works extra hard to get on D’Lo’s good side and this day was no exception. Talking to him in an extra sweet voice, offering him stickers, whatever it takes to get a smile and some friendly toddler words from him (he actually has this effect on most women)…and today, much to our delight, it was working!
Since she was having such good luck with him, she decided to take it a step further and ask for a hug. He thought about her proposal, jumped to his feet, ran over to her, and hopped up into her arms! She was happy…and I was so proud.
Then, just as quickly as my pride had arrived, it made a quick exit and was replaced with horror…as he drew his face back from hers, pointed a little index finger right into her acne and asked:
You got muh-kee-tow bites?!
LOLLLLL!!!!!!!
I am dying over here!
Oh no! Too funny! I hope the friend took it in good stride. You are so right, there is no controlling what comes out of their mouths. I remember being in a store w/my son once and he pointed at a man and said, “he is huge!” I had to explain to him that everyone is different and how boring it would be if everyone looked the same.
D’Lo sounds precious!
Oh no!! That isn’t funny…at all! LOL. Thanks, Girl – D’Lo is a very precious, maniac midget 🙂
